Theatre production to be held this coming weekend at the Cumberland Former MP Francis Leblanc rehearses his role as Jos Lefebvre in the upcoming Vintage Stock production of "A Cumberland Christmas / Nöel à Cumberland". (Photo courtesy of DLLN Brown) Heather Jamieson, former General Manager for Orleans Young Players, is one half of the mother and daughter combination and will play the matriarch of the English Mackenzie family. Her daughter Louisa Haché a recent drama graduate of Bishop's University is directing. Ms. Jamieson said, "It has been a wonderful experience for me to work with Louisa in her professional capacity as director. Over the years, I have seen her perform in countless plays and seen her skill as an actor. But, seeing her in the director's chair as she works with this cast, shows a whole different skill set as I see her ability to help us develop our characters and bring Susan Flemming's wonderful script to life." Two other cast members a brother and sister duo, Jacquie Embleton and her brother Dave Brown were raised surrounded by musical theatre in their hometown of Mississauga, Ontario, where their parents were deeply involved with the Clarkson Music Theatre. Dave admits his last role in The King and I was back when he was the same age as his teenagers are now but he's excited at the prospect of being on stage again. Former MP Francis Leblanc and retired school teacher Ginette Denis had never met each other before being cast yet, they create touching moments between a husband and wife as they learn of the pending birth of their first grandchild. Bryce Fisher, his daughter Erica and Marseille Lachance round out the principles as a philosophical Postmaster who connects with two young friends through their letters to Santa. Director Louisa Haché said, "One of the most satisfying thing about this cast, is seeing how such a diverse group of people can come together and form a cohesive team and I think audiences will be delighted by the performances." Performances of A Cumberland Christmas / Nöel à Cumberland will be held at the Cumberland Museum, 2940 Old Montreal Road, on Friday December 14 and Saturday December 15 at 7 p.m., with a matinee performance on Sunday, December 16 at 1 p.m. The ticket price also includes admission to the Museum when it is open.
